A Brief Note On Professional And Individual Ethics

PROFESSIONAL / INDIVIDUAL ETHICS Scenario The site is a private property of Mr John Cruger Mrs Alicia Cruger (Created for sake of assignment). The site is a flat land and vacant currently and the client intend to build 2 townhouses and it is not sure whether they will lease or sell the property after completion. 1) Architect’s Point of View As an architect, in terms of practicalities and technicalities of the project, I do see the potential of the site. Being in the Richmond area, the project is bound to be a success either be lease or sold. Furthermore, the site is flat and has no significant tree to preserve, make it even better for architect, engineers and contractor. Yes. The site will be easy to design and construct, however, in terms of society cognizance, the architect must take serious consideration of neighborhood opinion. Suitable construction method must be implemented and working hour system must be change and plan properly. As a professional architect, I shall carry my professional work faithfully, conscientiously, competently and in a professional manner. Therefore, I always make the client clear on details of the project, for instance, job scopes, budget, schedule and most importantly completion date. I also must respect and acknowledge the professional aspirations and contribution of other previous architect of the project or other consultants involved during the project.
